Michael is a qualified psychotherapist, with a MSc and HDip in Gestalt Psychotherapy with The Gestalt Institute of Ireland / South East Technological University. He is also a qualified clinical supervisor who trained with The Gestalt Institute of Ireland/ South East Technological University.
Michael is a member of IAHIP and ICP – The Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy and The Irish Council for Psychotherapy.
As a psychotherapist and supervisor, Michael has worked in many areas of service and support, including Social and Health Care Services (Health Service Executive (HES) and MEND - Men Ending Domestic Violence), as well as University (Technology University of the Shannon) and private settings, delivering the highest possible standard of care and support to guide clients from all backgrounds towards a better future and continual psychological, emotional and professional development.

Michael's professional and yet warm approach to working with clients provides the necessary care and support that allows both parties to work together toward co-creating a trusting relationship, that not only builds resilience, but helps each individual discover new creative methods of working through a wide range of presenting issues from depression, to anxiety and panic states including phobias, grief, loss & bereavement, coping with illness or serious injury, adjustment to life problems, life cycle issues, stress, trauma, abuse (e.g. sexual, psychical, emotional, psychological & financial), relationship difficulties and anger issues (critical and frustrated with self for not being able to cope).

Personal and professional development are the cornerstone to how Michael works, and he strives to remain up to date and involved with the current therapeutic methods and tools. This is perhaps best reflected in his training as a clinical supervisor and his ongoing training in the Diamond Approach, which has supported his understanding and ability to engage with a deeper understanding of human nature and also helps him guide the individuals he works with in discovering a path to realising and developing both their individual and professional potential.
