Death of Eileen Lynch R.I.P.

Eileen Lynch graduated from the Irish Gestalt Centre in 1989 after training as a midwife and then reading psychology at UCC.  Her vision of an army of bare-foot psychologists who could bring emotional healing to the wider population found expression in her work in the Cork Social and Health Programme (SHEP) where she contributed hugely to shaping the open-hearted, relational ethos of that organisation.   After retiring in 2004 Eileen stayed for many years working as a group facilitator in SHEP and in 2015 helped set up SHEP Earth Aware raising awareness on environmental and climate issues.

With her husband Frank Dorr (another IGC graduate), Eileen contributed hugely to the growth of local community development and counselling services in Ireland.  Her contribution is much appreciated by the Board and alumni of the IGC/GII – she will be missed.
