Description of Work and Background:

I have a private psychotherapy practice in Galway.
My more senior age experience has facilitated an easy relationship with clients of all ages. Being Granddad to young grandchildren further informs my understanding of family dynamics today.

I have worked with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, panic attacks, the impact of childhood trauma, loss and grief, and relationship challenges. I have a particular interest in the challenges presented by the changing role and expectations of men in the world today. From a workplace perspective, the most common issues include stress, burnout, relationships, and bullying.

My role as Chairman of a National School in Galway has given me an understanding of the challenges being experienced by all the members of our school communities, children, parents, and teachers.

The foundation of my therapy is based on Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy. Building a trusting, non-judgemental and supportive environment I create a safe space from which clients can explore the issues which face them. In my own unique style grounded in compassion, understanding, and encouragement clients are empowered to examine and address the challenges they face. Each of us is on our own personal journey, a journey where self-awareness can allow us to live a happier and more fulfilled life.
